5 Days Dayak Feast Tour
DAY 01 : BALIKPAPAN - LOAJANAN
Upon arrival at Sepinggan Airport Balikpapan, drive directly to
a local restaurant for lunch. Then, drive to Loa janan village which
is located 110 km to the North. At the pier of this village you
board a slow boat which will serve as a Floating Hotel and depart
for Dayak land. (L,D)
DAY 02 : MAHAKAM - TANJUNG ISSUY
After a brief stop at Ma Muntai to obtain our official permit, ,
continue to the fishing villages of Jantur, Tanjung Jona , and Tanjung
Hour. You arrive at Tanjung Issuy, one of the main Dayak villages
in the afternoon. Upon arrival your group will be welcomed with
a traditional ceremony lead by a village chief and his people. In
the evening, attend a Dayak cultural performance in the village.
Overnight and meals in The Long House of Dayak Benuaq. (B,L,D)
DAY 03 : TANJUNG ISSUY - MANCONG - MAHAKAM
This morning you have opportunity to explore the village and to
get to know the tribal way of live, their beliefs, arts and handicrafts.
You will also visit the Tribal Cemetery. If the water conditions
permit, continue to Mancong village in the hinterland, using a canoe
known as "Ketinting", then return to Lake Jempang and
board a slow boat. Overnight and meals are on board. (B,L,D)
DAY 04 : MAHAKAM - TENGGARONG - BALIKPAPAN
On the return to Balikpapan , a stop will be made in Tenggarong
to observe the Sultan's collection in the Museum. Arrive at Balikpapan
late in the afternoon and proceed directly to the Hotel Benakutai
for accommodation and meals. (B,L,D)
DAY 05 : BALIKPAPAN - OUT
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the Airport to depart for your next
destination. (B)

Feast & Orchid Tour
DAY 01 : BALIKPAPAN - LOAJANAN - MAHAKAM
Upon arrival at Sepingan Airport (Balikpapan), head directly to
a local restaurant for lunch. Then drive to Loajanan, a village
which is located 110 kms to the North. At the pier of this village
you board on a slow boat which will act as a Floating Hotel and
depart for "Dayak Land".(L,D)
DAY 02 : MAHAKAM - TANJUNG ISSUY
After stopping at Ma Muntai to obtain a travel permit, continue
on to fishing villages of Jantun, Tanjung Jone, Tanjung Hour, arrive
at Tanjung Issuy one of the Dayak villages in the afternoon. Upon
arrival your group will be welcomed with a traditional ceremony
led by the village chief and his people. In the evening, attend
a Dayak culture performance in the village. Overnight and meals
in the village Long House. (B,L,D)
DAY 03 : TANJUNG ISSUY - MANCONG - MAHAKAM
In the morning an opportunity will be given to explore the village
and to get to know the Dayak people, their beliefs, art and handicrafts,
and customs. You will have an opportunity to see a tribal ceremony.
If water condition permit, continue to Mancong village in the hinterland
using a canoe called Ketinting, then return to Lake Jempang and
board a slow boat for the cruise down the Mahakam river.(B,L,D)
DAY 04 : MAHAKAM - MELAK - KERSIKLUWAI
Breakfast on board. Drive by truck or Toyota pick-up to the Kersikluwai
Nature Reserve - a forest of 50,000 Ha with numerous varieties of
orchids, including the rare Colony Pandurata (Black Orchid). Then
drive to Melak and cruise down the Mahakam River. (B,L,D)
DAY 05 : MAHAKAM - TENGGARONG - BALIKPAPAN
On the way back to Balikpapan a stop will be made at Tenggarong
to observe the Sultan's Collection in the museum (closed on Monday).
You arrive at Balikpapan late in the afternoon and proceed directly
to Hotel Benakutai for accommodations and meals. (B,L,D)
DAY 06 : BALIKPAPAN - OUT
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the Airport for your flight to your
next destination. (B)
